In my opinion, this subject is for the most part a personal matter. While I don’t think ANYBODY (again, just my opinion) should be out getting wasted, I think having a drink or 2 every now in then isn’t a big deal for some. For example, I love the occasional glass of wine, or more than anything a Guinness. I have never had a problem with drinking, and actually my freshman year of college I would go out drinking a lot, and it one day hit me that I didn’t enjoy drinking at all, and stopped until I eventually found opiates.
Well, I do enjoy the taste of Guinness, and I will still have one every now and then when I go to a restaurant that has it on tap, but I just think of it as a drink, not the alcohol, as it doesn’t give me any buzz (that I can notice, but i’ve always been kind of resistant to alcohols effects, for being a small guy, I used to have to drink 4.5-5 drinks to start really buzzing. But again, I don’t care for the effects of alcohol, and except for my 21st birthday and the last new years eve i’ve had more than a drink or 2, twice since I turned 21.
I do believe that a person with a previous weakness for alcohol SHOULD use caution and really think about it, because i’ve heard of people on subs becoming heavy drinkers. EDIT: BTW, I would strongly suggest against hard liquor more than anything, as this can really lead to a slippery slope!
