Thanks Lilly, I understand what you’re saying.

I think the part of the article that got me was the "living life on life’s terms." As far as I know, that’s an NA saying and when people in my NA groups say that, they mean living completely narcotic/drug free.

The article seemed to use the fact that we can learn how to live with our anxiety as proof that we don’t need Benzo’s. That’s when the idea that many opiate addicts have learned to live without opiates without the use of Suboxone came into my mind. It kinda struck me as unfair to say a person using Benzo’s is not living life on life’s terms, but someone on Suboxone is.

I guess that phrase living life on life’s terms has come to mean being completely narcotic/drug free for me. As always, my addict brain tries to see everything in black and white when there are usually many shades of grey in the middle. I guess by asking the original question that I did, instead of saying "if people on Benzo’s aren’t living life on life’s terms, then people on Suboxone aren’t either!" shows that I’m at least making some progress with my thinking…..one can only hope!!!
