Hey slamdunc and Aimee,
The lack of energy after getting off of Suboxone is part of the game. The only people I have seen who’ve been able to avoid this are those that taper very slowly and to VERY low doses…..as in .25mg of Suboxone or lower. Some people who are in their early 20’s or younger seem to not have such an issue with the lack of energy as well, but not all of them?
I hate to pee in your cornflakes, but you’re most likely gonna suffer from a lack of energy for a while. The best remedy, get off your butt’s and get out and get active. I know your mind and body are screaming at you to NOT do that, but you can’t listen to them.
The lack of energy will improve. It sounds like you two just got off of Suboxone, the lack of energy you’re experiencing right now is probably extreme, it will get better. Week by week you should notice improvements.
Learning to live without opiates in your body is hard. For me, the opiates were my energy everyday, all day long. Then when I didn’t have any opiates in me anymore, I barely knew how to function. You have to relearn how to live without opiates and the harder you fight that learning process, the longer it’ll take you to feel better.
Good luck to both of you and remember, it gets better.
