Hi meltalk…if you recall, we met earlier in the chat room. I’m glad to see you posted. Congrats on starting suboxone and ending the crazy cycle of active addiction.

Yes, suboxone can and is used for pain. But it doesn’t work for everyone and it isn’t great for acute pain. I also take it for pain and for me, it makes my it tolerable and manageable. I’m glad it’s helping you, too.

I don’t understand why your doctor would say that. It strikes me very odd. Suboxone is an opiate, but it’s a partial agonist whereas "regular" pain pills are full agonists. It’s this difference and suboxone’s ceiling effect that makes suboxone different from "regular" pain meds and can be used to treat our addiction instead of feed it like other opiates.
