I’ve tried both, and prefer the pills.

There are some benefits to the pills, as there are for the film too. Just be aware that if your doctor agrees to switch, you may need a slight dose increase to make up for the reduced bioavailability of the tablets.

There are benefits with reduced naloxone absorbtion with the tablets, so if you are having any naloxone related side-effects they should be reduced. Also the tablets are a more stable preparation, so it’s less likely that the naloxone will breakdown into toxic compounds. The tablets also don’t flake like the film does apparently.

The people who’ve come here and switched back to the film after trying the tablets do so because they prefer the stronger feel of the film. But if you’re more interested in reducing your dose and reducing side-effects, then you may prefer the tablets.
