The biggest problem I had with quitting regular opiates (pain pills) is that I would always go screaming back to those suckers in no time flat. Being on regular opiates did nothing to help me in my recovery. At least when I was on Suboxone, I wasn’t out rippin’ and runnin’ all over hell’s half acre looking for pills. Suboxone allowed me to put the craziest parts of my active addiction behind me and to learn how to live without chasing drugs.
I had a hard time getting off of Suboxone because I jumped from a high dose. It took me 30 days just to feel human again….but it was worth it.
Truly, the best way to get off of Suboxone is to taper.
