Free_bird did you get an appointment with the opiate OB specialist that you wrote about on the other thread? I am sure that would be a huge relief…to be under one doctors care that understands what you are going through.

And, I have to agree with MSYetti that I understood that there were risks in the withdrawal. However, I had yet to hear of anyone who had a miscarriage while tapering/jumping while pregnant but I HAD heard of several babies born with NAS? I am sure there are probably 1,000 things/ways I could have done it different. But for me, I asked my doctor if she knew anyone successful off of subs in pregnancy and she could cite examples..when it came to staying on subs, her #s for the risk of NAS were 50/50. Again, as many people have said on here, even with NAS it is treatable, but I could not deal with the next 6 months, then delivery, in that fear. Again…that is just ME..and what I did based on my docs opinion. If I would have been told to stay on, I would have viewed it totally different.

Please keep posting as to what you decide to do. I know how scary that can be…I started tapering at around 6-7 weeks, and jumped at 10 weeks. Looking back I probably would have waited until all the hormones stabilized, baby got past 1st trimester, etc. I was just HUGELY panicked about the whole deal and my typical behavior is all or nothing. I am glad it is done, however.
