Hi everyone,
I have this book, called "Intoxicating Minds" and it’s all about how drugs work in the brain and body. Well, it mentions that long ago, the ancient Incas would chew coca leaves for energy, and to make their mouths more alkaline so to improve absorption, they would put ash or lime juice into their mouths before they chewed the leaves.
What do you guys think about this? Should one of us try a little lime juice to see how that works? LOL No, seriously, what do you think? Obviously, the idea here it to make the mouth more alkaline, which increases the absorption ability of the mouth. I’d be willing to swish some lime juice before I took my tablet, maybe especially if it had some sugar in it, haha. I bet it would make the aftertaste a little less bitter…. just a thought.
What do you guys have to say? And I’m also wondering, if limes, why not lemons? Is there a difference, or is it that they didn’t have access to lemons maybe?
Lemonade, anyone?? ![]()
