I’m 29 and have been on Suboxone for 3 years. For the first 2 years I loved the drug and had no side effects from it. But, about a year ago I started having pulmonary problems aggravated by the Suboxone. I had a hard time breathing, swollen joints and stiffness, dizzyness, sleep apnea, hypnic jerks, ect. I just had a pulmonary function test which showed I now have pulmonary issues with possible pulmonary hypertension FROM SUBOXONE. I am scared now because I’m addicted to the subs but I can’t stop without going into withdrawal and missing work for weeks upon weeks which means I’d get fired. I already got my dose down to <4 MG a day from 16MG daily and the symptoms have improved dramatically but I feel bad withdrawal when I go any lower.

I don’t know what to do and I’m pissed that the FDA would approve this medicine without knowing all the problems it causes. I got on Subs because I have an Ulnar Nerve Disorder in my hand and wanted to stop taking big doses of pain pills and now I’m on a medicine that might just kill me. Thanks Doc! Has anyone else had pulmonary problems from Suboxone?
