Thanks for the tips. I should have listed what I’ve already tried, because I’ve tried everything you suggested!
I’ve been on Trazadone, but it didn’t help me fall asleep or do anything at all for my depression so I stopped that.
I was on Remeron for depression 10 years ago, and it did nothing for my depression, but it did definitely help me sleep. So much that when I tried to get off, I went 3 nights in a row with not a wink of sleep and started hallucinating. So I had to taper off of that until I was taking tiny crubs for a few months. The reason I got off is because I gained about 25 lbs on it, which my dr warned me about…so that is not an option for me.
Melatonin also helped me fall asleep, but it gave me very vivid nightmares. They were so bad I stopped using it. This was also yeas ago, so I might try the melatonin again. I can’t remember if it helped me stay asleep or not.
I have tried Sleepy Time tea. I am going to try that again. Right now I drink Tension Tamer herbal tea before bed, and it really does help me fall asleep a lot better. But I just can’t stay asleep. GGrrrrrrr!!!
Unisom and Benadryl help me go to sleep but not stay asleep.
I was on Prozac for depression a long time ago, but it made me so tired I could not even function. I was sleeping on my break and lunch at work, and I’d come home and get in bed at 6pm and not get up til work the next day (except to pee and force myself to eat). And I slept the entire weekend through. I had to get off of Prozac, even though it helped me sleep and helped my anxiety/irritability, but I couldn’t sleep my life away! I even tried raising the dose and lowering the dose, and still could not function.
I got tempurpedic pillows, a mattress topper, and earplugs for when my boyfriend snores (which I use every night). I just don’t know what to do. I wish I could sleep like a normal human being.
