It’s true for heroin addicts as well. I think the moment any of us becomes addicted to opioids, the odds are stacked against us if we try abstinence. Those odds increase markedly when we remain on Suboxone, or even methadone.

Staying is clean is still unlikely if we taper off Subox long term. By memory, Dr J said the majority of people relapse within 6 months.

I personally believe that if anyone is persistent enough, and tries to be abstinent enough times, they will eventually "get it". If one keeps trying, it’s just a matter of time.
