I can’t believe people are pointing the "you’re not clean" stick at Cutty, when there’s just as many, if not more people out there pointing the "you’re not clean" stick at all of us for being on suboxone. IMO suboxone is a drug that is more addictive than marijuana. People with a low tolerance to suboxone definitely get stoned off it, can fall in love with its effect, and in the end become physically dependent. Despite Reckitt’s fanciful marketing, all opiates are addictive, and all, even codeine, I believe are more addictive than marijuana. Why do you think people can buy Subs on the street?

I always find it funny seeing people accuse others of not being clean, then after the meeting you see them sucking down cigarettes and drinking coffee. Whose definition are we going by?

If Cutty feels that smoking marijuana is a lesser evil than using heroin (and I agree with that), then that’s his choice. But if people in here are accusing him of not caring about recovery because he’s not clean, well then, right back at ya!

I just hope Cutty that you haven’t conceded that you’ll be smoking marijuana for the rest of your life. I do agree with much of what people in this thread are saying, minus the hypocrisy. The most challenging and rewarding part of recovery is to learn to live life without having that "escape hatch", and to face every responsibility without running away. Holding onto a crutch like marijuana I feel would be selling yourself. Have you ever seriously attempted a life 100% drug free? Give it a go. By overcoming the hurdles involved, you’ll grow to become a person you’d never have imagined possible. You’ll grow some big cajones!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I feel that such discussion would probably be better in a place like bluelight. You don’t need our stamp of approval to the way you do your recovery. It’s up to you. Recovery is different for us all. The idea of using marijuana ..for.. your recovery is controversial, especially in here, and would probably be better suited to another forum.
