i’ve had gastric bypass surgery so b12 supplements are a necessity for me. i take oral megadoses which are probably 3000% FDA RDA and have no issue and also have to take shots sometimes when that’s not enough. as far as i am aware b12 is a water soluble vitamin thus your body flushes out any excess (you pee it out). now it may be because i am plagued by pernicious anemia but i find b12 gives me no energy whatsoever, but if i don’t take it i’m up a creek without a paddle and i start having major problems with lethargy. anyway it just normalizes me i guess is what i am saying. i don’t have issues with lethargy on the sub tho. never have had that side effect.
(please talk to your doc before starting the b12 supplementation though. i have a slightly unique case as i have pernicious anemia as the portion of my stomach that metabolizes b12 is diminished….)
