I would wait honestly. 4-6 months is still 4-6 months away, and a lot can happen in that time. You never know. While it’s always good to have a rough plan for the medium-term, it’s not in the time frame to freak over. Because much can change yet, with your treatment, and your work circumstances.

Like DoaQ said, tapering is the trick with this stuff. And 6 months is long enough to do a taper IMO.

Just no matter what you think of, rapid detox is not the way, so don’t fall for that scam. Also, if for any reason you had to jump, I’d suggest having your last dose at least 3 days before you finish work. 2-3 days after last dose into a buprenorphine detox you should be able to continue working as there will still be buprenorphine in your system. Then by the end of your week off work you should be up to day 11, which (in my experience with buprenorphine, your mileage may vary) is when things have started to improve. So worst case scenario, this may help you scrape through.
