I just like the sound of that. Sorry to pick on your beautiful name.
Let’s see, an update. Well, I am feeling a bit better than when I last posted. I went back and reread those posts of mine and saw so many grammatical errors it shocked me. Funny how pain affects the brain. Normally, when thinking straight, and I still aren’t yet, I can sit and write a whole paper with no mistakes. Is my brain draining away? Naw, just the pain and the meds I think.
For the last couple of days I have been able to eat three squares. Mind you, very small meals like two scrambled eggs with nothing else for breakfast, maybe a Ramen noodle lunch, and then more soup for dinner. I avoid all salt and anything not soft as can be. Had my wife buy me some cantaloupe as I was craving it and couldn’t eat it, too hard to swallow. That is what I miss, fruits and veggies. I really could be a Vegan if need be. And it is funny how a 6′ man can live on under 800 calories a day and feel grateful.
The meds started working for me nearly a week after I started them. It may have been the Suboxone or it was just the severity of the pain I had. It is still way bad but nothing like it was. Haven’t decided what to do with the Lortabs yet. May not have enough to last until my next surgery and I am going to ask for some more time in between so I can put some weight back on and eat normally. I’m assuming the same amount of pain is coming again for my second surgery and I’m scared to death of repeating what I just went through.
Have a followup appt. tomorrow so I’ll know more then.
Thanks for asking.
