| I started on suboxone in May 2010, 8mg three times a day. It’s now Nov 2011 and I’m on the same dosage. This is all becoming more and more disturbing as I’m reading replies to my original question. All of the random counts and screens, esp 4 in 4 weeks,. Yep, she is getting away with something here. I have medicare btw. You’d think the clinic would be concerned with how much medicare fraud there is. I’m scared to bring it to their attention for fear of her either getting pissed off and booting me out of the program as well as medicare denying coverage. I’ve been approved till Feb 2012, then I need to have it authorized again. One more question if I may ….. if a sub doctor should dismiss a pt from their practice (like I was threatened with if I didn’t show up for last weeks count/drug screen), is that even ethical? Moral, legal, whatever? Because I’m on 24mgs a day and that seems like a lot compared to what I’m reading here. Can she suddenly say too bad, don’t come back? Doesn’t she have to at least continue to treat me till I’m weaned off? Or if I didn’t show up last week, could they refuse to see me at the next visit? I’d be there for an appt next Sat morning, with none left. Doesn’t seem right that can be done. I’m thinking it’d be dangerous to go from 24mgs one day to ZERO the next. Again, thanks for all the responses. I’m sorry I haven’t been more active here and seemingly was a lurker and only posted when I had an issue. I was not lurking I swear |
Yes. Unfortunately, your doctor can dismiss you without warning and without a script if you violate the terms of your patient contract. Actually, they may be able to for any reason..but if you violate your terms, you won’t win if you sue.
If you really did fail a u/a without using (I know that it’s possible), that just makes it all the worse.
You need to find a new doctor..this really sucks, I am sorry.
